Martin Kaymer is the latest big name to confirm his participation in the upcoming Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Castle Stuart Golf Links.
Kaymer reached the summit of the game in 2010, reaching the top spot in the world rankings, picking up his maiden major title at the USPGA Championship and capturing the Race to Dubai title.
His results haven't been quite as spectacular of late, but he is hoping to kickstart his 2012 campaign with a solid performance in the Scottish Open next month.
Kaymer won the event at Loch Lomond three years ago and is eyeing another Scottish victory as he looks to improve his current world ranking of 15th.
"I've heard great reports about the course at Castle Stuart and I am looking forward to playing links golf again," said the 27-year-old.
"One of the biggest thrills of my career to date was winning the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship over three of the greatest links courses in the world, so it will be exciting to test myself at Castle Stuart and try to get back to winning ways again.
"Winning in Scotland, the Home of Golf, was a very special feeling and I think the spectators are among the most knowledgeable and respectful in the world. I love Scotland and am looking forward to the chance of winning a second Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open title."
Kaymer will join a star-studded field at Castle Stuart which includes defending champion and World No 1 Luke Donald of England, three-time Major winners Ernie Els and Padraig Harrington and Scotland's own Open
Champion Paul Lawrie.
