After shooting an opening round 68 on Thursday at the USPGA Championship, John Daly said his return to form is thanks to his time in Europe.
Daly, who won the same major 21 years ago, lost his PGA Tour card and as a result has been playing in Europe in recent times.
The American believes that playing across the pond has had a great impact on his game due to the helpful nature of those on the tour.
"The guys on the European Tour are good guys. I'm not saying ours aren't, but they just seem to be more into helping you out a little bit more than our guys do," he said.
"Maybe it's because they don't play for as much money as we do, but they make me feel good over in Europe.
"My goal would be to be back on our Tour, no doubt, but there's that option and it's not a bad one, to be honest with you."
Determined to get back on the US Tour, Daly does not believe he is too far from achieving a level that will get him there.
"I want to be here, playing our Tour. I want to be like everybody else in the top 50 and getting that free money in the World Golf Championships and be in all the majors and getting sponsors, big, big sponsors and stuff like
that," he said.
"I don't think I'm that far. I don't think any of us are that are fighting to get our cards or fighting to win or whatever. We're never, ever that far. I just believe if I keep telling myself, I'll get where I want to be instead of being negative about it. That's really all you can do," he added.
