After putting himself into a great position heading into the weekend at the Masters, Rory McIlroy was left wondering where it all went wrong on Sunday.
Rounds of 71 and 69 on the first two days left the Northern Irishman only one shot off the lead at the halfway mark at Augusta, but after following a five-over-par 77 with a struggling 76 on Sunday, McIlroy's Masters dream was well and truly over.
Still, the 22-year-old was in pretty good spirits following his final round, no doubt mindful that he will get many more chances to don the green jacket.
"It's one better than yesterday!" McIlroy joked when asked about his final round.
"It wasn't great, I got off to another bad start and didn't recover.
"It's tough to take - coming into the weekend I felt I had a chance but the way I blew up on the first nine holes on Saturday (taking 42 strokes to the turn) wasn't great."
