Luke Donald played himself out of contention - and possibly the World No 1 spot - at the Masters on Saturday.
The Englishman posted another disappointing round, a three-over-par 75, to finish on seven over par, well out of the running.
An eagle two at the third promised much, but when he ran up his second double-bogey seven of the week after going in Rae's Creek on the 13th, the writing was on the wall.
"I thought I hit a decent shot," Donald said, "but it missed carrying by two inches."
Missed putts of six feet at the 16th and 18th compounded the misery.
"There's nothing worse than waking up on a Sunday and whatever you do is not going to be good enough," the 34-year-old said.
"I had high hopes for this week. I will think about my build-up, but I felt ready. At least I won some crystal for the eagle, that's about the only high."
Donald is also in serious danger of relinquishing his spot at the top of the world rankings to either Rory McIlroy or Lee Westwood, depending on how the duo fare.
