Luke Donald believes the European Tour should incorporate a play-off system to ensure that the European Tour money winner isn't decided before the final tournament.

Luke Donald: Calls for change

Donald moved up to number two on the latest world rankings after his victory in Japan on Sunday and is in Dubai for this weekend's DP World Tour Championship, but believes this year's tournament is something of an anti-climax.
World number one Rory McIlroy has already been crowned the European Tour money winner ahead of the event and Donald believes this fact detracts from the tension during the tournament.
"It's a little bit more of an anti-climax than probably the Tour would want," Donald noted.
"They may want to think about adding a scenario where that doesn't happen and incorporate either a play-off system or some other way to make sure that it does go down to the wire.
"I think that makes it more exciting."
The FedEx Cup - the equivalent event on the USPGA Tour - uses a points system which means that the winner's purse is still available irrespective of what happened at earlier events.
McIlroy won the second and third legs of the event this year for example, but Brandt Snedeker lifted the trophy by winning the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Donald also recalls the pressure he felt this time last year when he was trying to complete the double of European and PGA Tour money lists that McIlroy has now completed.
"Last year I felt I had a target on my back," commented.
"Thanks Rory for making my achievement look ordinary.
"Rory has made it look pretty easy. His consistency was unmatched by anyone."
While he lost his world number one ranking to the 23-year-old Ulsterman, Donald has had a successful year nonetheless and won his third title of the season at the Dunlop Phoenix Open this weekend.
"I knew it was always going to be tough to follow up last year, but I've still been successful."
