South African Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius will compete in next week's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Fife.
Pistorius: Loves the game
Nicknamed the 'Blade Runner', Pistorius, who runs on carbon fibre blades, won two gold medals and a silver at the recent Paralympics in London, and plays off an 18 handicap.
He will feature in the team competition in Fife, which sees amateurs competing alongside professionals.
"I am a big golf fan and love the game," said Pistorius.
"I have never played St Andrews, Carnoustie or Kingsbarns before, so playing them in a world-class event is a unique opportunity. There is so much history at St Andrews, every golfer longs to play there."
Other amateurs set to compete include actor Greg Kinnear, musician Huey Lewis and former Dutch footballers Ruud Gullit and Johan Cruyff, while some of the pros confirmed to participate include Ernie Els and Paul Lawrie, who is currently taking part in the Ryder Cup in Chicago.
