Ian Poulter has withdrawn from the Honda Classic due to illness, opening the door for rookie Miguel Angel Carballo.
Carballo will now play alongside Tiger Woods and Lee Westwood in one of the marquee pairings of the day.
Speaking to Westwood and Woods on his twitter site, Poulter said: "Sorry guys - never been so disappointed in pulling out of a tournament. Never felt so rough."
Last night he had tweeted: "Heading straight to bed, 101.2 temperature, freezing then sweating. I hope I can sweat it out overnight or it could be home for me."
He even took a picture of the thermometer.
A chest X-ray later revealed pneumonia and it now remains to be seen if the flamboyant Englishman will recover in time for next week's WGC-Cadillac Championship in Miami.
