Adam Scott has no plans to fire caddie Steve Williams over the New Zealander's racist comments about former employer Tiger Woods.
Adam Scott - seeing WGC double in Shanghai
Scott posted a highly respectable third round 69 at the HSBC Champions in Shanghai to sit in third place going into the last 18 holes, but his press conference was dominated by questions about Williams and Friday night's annual Caddie Awards dinner where Williams is alleged to have made a racist remark about Tiger Woods for which he has subsequently apologised.
One journalist asked him straight out if he thought Williams was a racist. Scott, replying without flinching, said: "I don't think so. I think we all know that's not the case.
"I'm the guy stuck in the middle, but I don't really have a gripe with either guy. It's for them to sort this out between themselves.
"It's not an issue for me.
"I think everything in that room last night was all in good spirits and a bit of fun and I think it probably got taken out of that room in the wrong context.
