The team from the Renegade Course, one of six Jack Nicklaus-designed courses at Desert Mountain, came out on top in a scorecard tiebreaker and took home a victory in the 28th annual Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches played last month at The Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. Desert Mountain-Renegade edged out Richland Country Club (Nashville, Tenn.), while Desert Mountain-Outlaw finished third.
Nineteen teams, consisting of a professional and three members of varying skill levels, participated in the scramble, best-ball and modified Chapman formats. Teams accumulated Stableford points for their net team scores over three days of play to determine the overall champion.
Congratulations to each club and competitor in the 2011 Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches and special thanks to the staff at Grand Cypress Golf Club for their help in hosting the tournament.
