Richie Ramsay carded a bogey-free round of 64 to take the third round lead at the Omega European Masters.
The Scot thrust himself into contention heading into the final day with a round that included four birdies on the front nine and a further three on the closing nine to finish on eleven-under.
"It was a very good day's work," Ramsay told the official European Tour website. "A couple more putts would've been nice, but other than that I've got no complaints at all.
"There were plenty of chances out there, but as always my plan was just to play the golf course, not the other people out there. If someone started making loads of birdies and was running away with the tournament, I would still have just stuck to my plan."
"I know I play my best when I get into that mindset. I'm just trying to chip away slowly and not make too many bogeys, and today I didn't make any at all!"
Ramsay was slightly fortunate to hold the lead though, after compatriot Paul Lawrie let it slip late on with a double bogey on the 14th to fall back to ten-under.
Lawrie, who is on a hot streak after winning the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles last week, endured an eventful start to his round, failing to produce a par on all but one hole on the front nine. Instead, Lawrie produced an eagle first up before mixing up five birdies with two bogeys.
England's Danny Willett joins Lawrie on ten-under, with overnight leader Julien Quesne a further shot adrift.
Three shots back are Welshman Jamie Donaldson, Jaco Van Zyl of South Africa and Mathias Gronberg of Sweden - who won the event in 1995.
