Despite a disappointing finish to the year in Australia, Luke Donald enjoyed his time there and is looking forward to next season.
Playing in the JBWere Masters at Victoria Golf Club over the weekend, Donald was never really in the running, starting the final day eight shots off the pace and able to do bo better than a final-round one-over 73 as the title went to am in-form Ian Poulter.
Donald finished the tournament in 12th and he certainly didn't produce the kind of golf that has seen him enjoy such an incredible year, winning five times around the world and topping the world rankings and money lists on both sides of the Atlantic.
Nevertheless, the 34-year-old enjoyed his time in Australia and is positive about what the future holds.
"I did enjoy it here and I am sure I will be back," Donald said.
"I probably put this in my top-10 courses, architecturally and from a design stand point.
"It's a marvellous golf course and I would like to experience some of the others."
Donald now heads back to the States to spend time with his family in Chicago over the Christmas and New Year period, before he'll return to Florida to start preparing for the new season.
Another busy schedule looms, but Donald's focus will be very much on winning that elusive first major in 2012.
"I would love to win a major and be a part of that group," he said.
"There are still parts of my game that I feel I can get stronger at and I will be working on that in the off season, working on winning more tournaments and working on keeping my position in the world rankings."
