Bloomberg Television’s first foray into a primetime sports business show will debut this month with an unmistakable golden touch. Jack Nicklaus, who has paralleled his legendary success on the course with a successful business and brand off the course, will be featured on Bloomberg’s newest show, Sportfolio. Hosted by well-known sports analyst Rick Horrow, Sportfolio premieres Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 9:00 p.m. ET, with the episode dedicated to the Golden Bear airing on Oct. 12.
Each week, Horrow, the CEO of Horrow Sports Ventures (http://www.horrowsports.com) and architect of more than $13 billion in major sports deals, will talk to sports leaders about the business and economics of the game. On the Sept. 21 show, Horrow will delve into the golf and golf business history of Jack Nicklaus. In an interview taped this week in the Golden Bear’s Florida offices, Horrow learns how Nicklaus got his motivation to succeed in golf and business, the origin of the iconic Golden Bear name, the current focus and success of Nicklaus’ global business, and the future and legacy of the Nicklaus and Golden Bear brands.
“I’m looking forward to hosting Bloomberg TV’s first program on the business of sports,” Horrow said. “I’ll be on the ground across America, having conversations with some of the top sports personalities I’ve known over the years, and offering a new perspective on the economics of the game.”
In Horrow’s premiere show, he sits down with Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. Future guests include NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, New York Giants owner Steve Tisch, Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
