Sergio Garcia has been named the European Tour golfer of the month for October.
Coming off a three-year long winless drought, Garcia shot back to form in dramatic fashion by picking up two consecutive victories in his native Spain, triumphing at both the Castello Masters and the Andalucia Masters in successive weeks.
At the Club de Campo del Mediterraneo the 31-year-old won by 11 clear shots, demolishing the rest of the field after finishing on 27 under par for the tournament.
He then headed to much a tougher Valderrama course and completed a gutsy one-shot victory over fellow Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez to complete the double and erase the memories of a series of narrow defeats at the venue on a number of previous occasions.
It's very, very special," he said at the time. "Valderrama - I have so much history here and unfortunately it wasn't as good as this until now!"
"I'm out of words," he added.
Following the two wins, Garcia leapt into 18th place in the world rankings, seventh on the Race to Dubai and firmly into Ryder Cup contention.
